Howard stern wwor channel 9 show - 69 epsiodes dvd set |
16 September 2005 |
Howard Stern Channel 9 Show - 69 Epsiode DVD Set Set contains 14 DVDs - all in a special hard plastic book-like case Each DVD contains 5 episodes and a interactive menu for quickly accessing each show on the disc This DVD set contains every episode 1-69 of The Howard Stern Show. The episodes are in the same order as they had aired on WWOR back in the early 90's, but without commercials Howard at his funniest... and most outrageous!!! Comments by Fans about The Howard Stern Channel 9 Show This show is the best show ever. It was unpredictable. Each week was different. Howard would have Grandpa Al from the Munsters bowling against rapper Young MC while a retarded freak tried to blow cigarette smoke through his eyes. The next week he might have Richard Simmons' fat friends tempted with fried chickens hung in front of them. Too bad Howard's later TV shows were not as good as this one. This show was fantastic! Much better than the E show. My favorites were Billy West doing his Larry Fine impersonation, and when Richard Simmons brought some fat friends with him and Howie kept tempting them with potato chips suspended by a fishing line. This incredibly, hilarious, unpredictable show. Up until its last episode, with its abrupt ending, this show remained the only reason to stay home on a Saturday Night. This is one of the best, most cutting edge comedy shows ever made. Few people outside of New York ever saw this show (this is NOT the E show), or even know it existed. For those who don't know what it is, this was made when Howard was in his undiscovered prime, before he "broke out" and syndicated his radio show, wrote his books, movie, etc. Once it was cancelled in 1992, it has never been re-aired. I hope one day it will be shown again, and the country will know that a true treasure it is. This was one of the most brilliant shows in TV history. What a shame that the rest of the country cannot see what we in the NYC area were privy to. Close-ups of Jackie's huge belly-button, Jessica Hahn's huge cans, Morton Downey punching Stuttering John and my all-time favorite moment in TV history...Howard, Fred, Jackie, Gary and Ronnie the Limo Driver getting massages from two yenta housewives while the boys were out trick-or-treating (picture Howard in a towel with a Marge Simpson mask on)! This was the first television show Howard Stern ever did. It was on Channel 9 in New York and syndicated in many cities across the country. I think it was the funniest show EVER on television. Nothing else even comes close. This was NOT the radio show. It was a real, in-studio show, and it was totally unpredictable. Remember how Saturday Night Live used to be the first season, when you never knew what they would do? Well the Howard Stern Show wasn't live, but it was even more unpredictable and ballsy. The show had constant battles with the censors. Howard and the gang would do just about anything, and that's why this show was so amazing. I remember an episode when Bob Denver was on the show and they did a Gilligan sketch where they all ate the Skipper! Stern did these hilarious parodies of game shows like Lesbian Dating Game and Queen for a Day! He had lots of has-been TV stars on - and always found something funny for them to do. He even had a special Christmas episode where Cheech and Chong played the wise men, Howard was the virgin Mary and producer Dan Forman was the baby Jesus. This show always pushed the envelope and was even banned from several stations. Compared to the current E! and CBS shows; they are wimpy as hell. This is the best thing Stern ever did. Don't miss you chance to own this classic set of 14 Full Screen DVDs!!! Do to the nature of this item we will not accept returns or issue refunds for this item.
